Recipients: Pops, Anita & James Lake

Saddle sore and cranky, as Suck and Mow we carried on. After a six hour drive we exited into a conservative white middle class suburban nieghborhood just outside of St. Louis. With the exception of one generous woman, people had their guards up and were not very friendly. We decided to move on closer to the city.

We pulled off to the south end of the city to find a more historical neigborhood, inhabited by mostly African Americans. We felt somewhat intimidated untill we saw Pops sitting on his front porch. Sitting and enjoying a late sunday afternoon with his daughter Anita and son James, we sensed a unique spirit. He was grinning from ear to ear and enthusiastically invited us up. We hardly had to explain what we were doing, he just said go right ahead.

Suddenly all the nieghborhood kids came over and were asking Mow to do their lawn. Everyone was open and willing to talk about the recent tradgedies in NY and expressed interesting opinions. Pop's and co. fully supported our services and the experience exceeded the limitations of any skin color, religion or creed. Pops, Anita and James were truly special people and we felt lucky to have embraced the moment with them.

Recipient: Mary Mitchel

Just down the street from Pop's, a neighbor asked for Suck and Mow services minus the Suck. Mary just wanted her lawn done, she didnt need her carpets done. How could we refuse after such and amazing experience? Mow expidited the service with fury, we gave her a certifcate, had a few touching words with her and were on our way.
